The Queer Times was established in May of 2019 and began a soft-launch in June on the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. We are an independent media outlet that is established, owned, and operated by LGBTQ+ people.
The Queer Times is a quality news organization that reports on issues affecting LGBTQ+ people. We are creating a platform for marginalized voices and promoting education and civic engagement within our community.
Independent Journalism: we strive to provide unbiased coverage on issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community.
Accountability: our reporting should be done in a way that holds private and public actors accountable for their impacts on LGBTQ+ and other issues.
Empowerment: dedicating ourselves to uplifting the voices of those most marginalized. Our platform will provide a space for LGBTQ+ writers, reporters, photographers, and other professionals.
Equality: we are an anti-racist, anti-sexist organization. We advocate for equality regardless of gender expression, sexual orientation, race, religion, age, disability, veteran status, immigration status, or national origin.
To create a public informed and educated on LGBTQ+ issues. To establish a media platform that caters to and is run by the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, and other similarly-identifiying individuals.
